ARTEO Director Ravi Kapur and Artistic Advisor Fransisca Tan recently presented at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) conference in Vienna, highlighting the organisation's innovative approach to bridging art and science.
During the Exploring the Art-Science Interface session, they introduced ARTEO's mission to support artists working with environmental data and imagery, with a focus on satellite Earth Observation (EO) and other geospatial information.
The presentation showcased emerging artworks from the ARTEO Pioneers phase and shared valuable insights from their pilot programme. These findings will be used to inform and scale future art-science collaborations in the environmental sphere.
This presentation at EGU demonstrates the growing interest in interdisciplinary approaches to science communication, as researchers and artists alike explore innovative ways to engage the public with critical environmental issues.
As the art-science interface continues to evolve, initiatives like ARTEO play a crucial role in fostering creativity and collaboration, ultimately contributing to a more holistic understanding of our planet and its challenges.
